GNG Playdate Brunch at our house

Mommy and the Girls Night Girls aka GNG haven't gotten together in a while so we decided to plan a playdate at our house. It was so much fun and everyone made it except Megan and Natalie's oldest, Jacob. We sure missed them but it was great to see everyone else! We all love to eat and since we were meeting at 10AM we decided to make it a brunch. We had yummy fruit and dip, a hash brown quiche, sausage breakfast casserole, zuchini bread, coffee cake and bagels w/ cream cheese. YUM! Thanks for all the yummies girls!

Broccoli for Vivi!

After Vivi's 6-month check-up, the Nurse Practioner suggested we try lots of different veggies first. Since mommy is making babyfood homemade this time around, she decided to try broccoli! Vivi actually loved it!!! Hmmmm....what is this you are feeding me?

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini....that she wore for the first time today!

Every other Friday is open swim where I take swim lessons, so we decided to go as a family. It was Vivi's first time ever in a pool and she got to wear her Yellow Polka Dot bikini from Aunt Kari and Uncle Mark. Isn't it so cute!!

She absolutely loved the water and we played for at least 45 minutes.
Daddy and I stayed in a little longer than mommy and Vivi because they were tired. Daddy helped me to hold my breath underwater, blow bubbles in the water and kick my feet. These are things we do in my class but it was also nice to practice them on our own!

Vivi is done swimming and just waiting on Daddy and I to exit the pool.

Of course, I had to play hide-and-seek before we could leave!! Can you see me?

Vivi's 6 month Stats

We went to the pediatrician today for Vivi's 6-month check up. She is one healthy baby girl and Nurse Practitioner said we are doing a fantastic job....pat, pat, pat! ;)

Weight: 19.3 lbs (93rd percentile!!!)

Length: 27 3/4 inches (95th percentile!!!)

Head: 44.7 cm (93rd percentile!!!)

She is very proportionate!! ;) Yay for Miss Vivian!

If you were wondering what Audrey's stats were at 6 months (like I was) here they are to compare. Remember, at 4 months Vivi and Audrey were within an ounce of weight difference, exact same length and Vivi had a slightly bigger head.

Audrey at 6 months:

Weight: 17.9 lbs (79th percentile)

Length: 26 1/2 (69th percentile)

Head 42.9 cm (57th percentile)

Bunny Ball

Austin got us a new bouncy ball that you can sit on for Easter and Vivi loves to hit it! She had so much fun!!

Bedtime Stories

Mommy and Daddy try to read to me every night and now we are adding Vivi into the mix and trying to read stories all together before bed. I love storybooks and I always say "my turn" when mommy and daddy are finished with a book (often in an attempt to delay "lights out, nighty nite"). Then, I flip back through the book and am very good at "reading" back what I just heard. Such a big girl!

Bananas?

Vivi is starting to try different baby foods now and mommy is even attempting to make some of them homemade this time around. Vivi tried bananas (not homemade) and didn't seem to care for them much. The NP said it takes up to 10 tastes of something for babies to really know if they like something or not....so, she will be eating mushed bananas at least 9 more times!!

I am a big girl and like to hold the whole banana and peel it myself!

Easter at Grammy's

After we left Grandma Cindy's, we headed for home but not before stopping off at Grammy Jo's to celebrate Easter with mommy's side of the family. We failed to take a family picture in our Easter outfits earlier in the day so we took one at Grammy's house that night in our regular clothes. it is a little silly but who cares! Mommy and two of my beautiful Aunts!

Playing with Austin

More attempts to get some good Easer pics! Very cute of Austin and Vivi. I wouldn't stay still long enough. Austin will be a super big brother some day! Oh....there I go!
