Girl's weekend in Cincinatti

Ok, I know this blog is for my girly girls but this girl wanted to share some pictures of my girl's weekend in Cincy....especially since the GNG check out the blog for updates! :) We had a super weekend and it was long overdue. We stayed at Hilary's house in Cincinatti to celebrate Megan's expectance of a new baby, moving to Waco, Texas, and graduating from grad school!! Wow!! She has a lot going on! We are so excited for her and Chance!

It was nice to see Xavier who just turned one at the beginning of July. What a cutie and a great little boy. (It was also nice to see his daddy, Mike)

Enjoy!

We went out to an awesome italian joint called Vito's in Kentucky, just over the bridge from Cincinatti. The servers were actually the entertainment and sang opera throughout the evening. Some of us girls ordered the special that was fettucini alfredo where owner, Chef Vito prepared it himself from a HUGE parmesan wheel of cheese. It was SOOOO good!!

All of us girls (minus Emily Mitten who had a last minute emergency... :( )

Natalie's mom is a professional photographer so she she always poses so well for pictures. We were making fun of her so I got this one!! ha! I am sure she will be thrilled to see it on here...if she does!! ha!

Hilary and I giving our own poses....tilt your head and stick out your chin?!?!

Megan opening her "timecapsule" gifts from all of us, reliving our past with each other.

What a great weekend! Thanks again for hosting Heffernans!!

Cousin Emma and Vivi meet...finally!

Cousin Emma lives in South Carolina and she hadn't met Vivi until recently when she flew to Indiana all by herself to spend a week at Grandma Cindy's. It was so nice to see her again and Vivi loved her! Grandma stopped by our house for the introduction on their way home from the airport. We got to spend the weekend with her and Jackie at Grandma's house! It was so much fun!

Now, if we could only get the rest of Emma's family here to visit!!

NKOTBSB

Mommy and Aunt Susan went to New Kids on the Block/Back Street Boys concert (NKOTBSB) with cousin Kim and friend Brandy. They had a great time. All the girls met at our house first, so mommy got a couple pictures of us with Aunt Susan all decked out in her 80's gear! ;)

My first face painting

The local grocery store we frequent had a grand re-opening and we just so happened to need some items during their celebration.....Oh, wait!!! They have face paintings and lots of samples...well, it's a good thing we went! This is my first face-painting. Mommy couldn't believe I sat still the entire time the man painted the cute "muffin" (actually a cupcake) on my cheek. It didn't last much longer than after this picture was taken. I wiped it off!! ;)

It sure was cute while it lasted though!!

Smith Family Reunion

Today was a family reunion in honor of my great grandma Susie, her brother Tom and their side of the family...the "Smith's".

It was way beyond hot at the Markle park and especially in the sweltering lodge we ate lunch in. We were mostly worried about the elderly and keeping hydrated
Even still, it was great to see everyone and there was a really good turnout. Plus, the food was excellent!

Grammy's first cousin's Amy and Tom

You know who these three are!!

Vivi tried some of Grammy's mint ice cream pie!! Yum...I think she liked it!

Great Grandma Susie's brother, Tom

There was a nice playground that we played on most of the time we were there. It was too hot inside and going down the slide gave us a short breeze... My cousin, Adela helped me go down the slide.

So serious...

Adela also carried me around like I was a baby. She loved it!! ;)

Her brother, Aidan, didn't want his picture taken so this is the back of him running away as quickly as possible!

We spun around on the merry-go-round thingy really fast!

This is Great Grandma introducing herself and announcing who all from her immediate family was there. She did a great job!

This is Grammy's cousin Tom's wife, Lisa. She is just the sweetest! Vivi was literally dripping with sweat.

Visiting Great Grandma Betty

We stopped in for a much overdue visit with Great Grandma Betty in Warren. She looked great and was in really good spirits. She broke her knee-cap earlier this summer and has been in the wellness part of the nursing home recovering since she is not supposed to walk on it. She should be back in her apartment soon which will be nice. I liked playing with all of the contraptions in her room...even though they really weren't toys. All of the old people loved smiling at us girls and were super friendly. :) We liked them too.

Great Grandma couldn't believe how big we are getting. We wore our matching dresses that Grandma Cindy made for us.

Swimming somewhere new...

It was a HOT Saturday afternoon and Kari and Mark called before they were going to swim at his parent's house and asked if we would want to join them. Daddy stayed home but mommy, Vivi and I took them up on their offer. We are glad we did because it sure was a great way to cool off!

I even got to wear Lane's floatie outfit and I could swim all by myself ;) I had to take a snack break in the middle.
The slide was lots of fun and I even jumped off the diving board to Uncle Mark.

Spraying Waterball

Vivi was still taking her afternoon nap so mommy and I headed outside with our waterball hooked up to the hose and our pool ready to fill! We had a blast!!

Aunt Kari was even off work so mommy told her to join us in the pool!

Cheap entertainment

It has been so hot this summer that it doesn't take much to keep us happy as long as we are in the water!

While the plants are getting a drink....I like to take a "skip" through the sprinkler myself!

Sometimes the water is so cold it takes me a bit to "warm up" to it!
