A night away in the Chicago burbs

We desperately needed to get out of the house for a couple of days. This winter has not been as mild and with a new baby and staying in we are starting to go stir crazy! So, where better than the Chicago burbs to escape to for a couple of days. We left home Saturday morning around 10am, stopped at Portillos in Willowbrook for lunch (daddy got Giordano's for himself) and then went to a new bowling alley/bocce ball/restaurant in Oakbrook to chill until our hotel room was ready.

It was the perfect set-up. We had the entire outside (which was heated and enclosed) bocce ball court area to ourselves and had our own server and TV. Mommy and Daddy watched the second game of the Big Ten Tournament there while Vivi and I ran around throwing balls "pretending" to know what we were doing. We also got some ice cream!!

When the game was over, and unfortunately IU lost to Wisconsin AGAIN, it was time to check into our hotel room which was a couple miles away. We really made no other plans, except to go swimming and work out some of that built-up winter energy!

Mommy and daddy got Wildfire carryout for dinner (which is much better at the restaurant), while Vivi and I enjoyed a nice happy meal straight from the McDonald's national headquarters location.

We headed back to Fishers on St. Patty's Day, after we all enjoyed a nice Chicago-stuffed peperoni pizza from Giordano's on our way out of town. This trip was just what we all needed.

We even danced on the bocce ball court

We swam and swam and swam! Even daddy was pooped!

Mommy and Blythe watched from the sidelines

Vivi and I got tangled up in our sleep...we are not used to sleeping together and it didn't last too long.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Please, no photos!

Really, mom?!
