First time at a 500 Festival Parade....and we will be back!

We were in town for Memorial Day weekend this year, so we decided to go to the 500 Festival Parade for the first time. It was GREAT and we can't wait to go back every year from now on! There are huge floats, celebrities, cotton candy, race cars, bands, cheerleaders, and tons of people! We parked at the Knights of Columbus for free because Uncle Mark was working there for the event. They had brats, burgers, hot dogs, etc. that we had to try as well.

Family picture in the parking lot before the parade. Happy Girl! Can't wait for her first parade!

I enjoyed yummy cotton candy while we waited for the parade to get to us. We sat at the very end so we had to wait a while...no worries though. It was well worth it!

More smiles!

Still waiting but still happy!

Hugs for Aunt Kari

...oh, kisses too of course!

The parade is here! Big man in a little car!

Of course, we sat on the other side of the interstate signs without realizing it until all of the huge floats turned right before they got to us. :( Oops! We will know better next year.

Such a beautiful parade and really reminded us of the reason we celebrate Memorial Day and all of the soldiers out there serving our country. THANK YOU military...past, present and future for our freedom! We are so thankful!

There were many different nationalities represented in the parade...Hawaiian, Chinese, Native American, and so many more. Here is the Chinese group.

Here is the back of Miss Florence Henderson (Mrs. Brady). She comes back to her hometown every year to sing at the Indy 500 race!

Kisses from Aunt Kari and Uncle Mark during the parade

SOOO much fun! What a great day!
